Commercial tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) services monitors the air pressure in the vehicles tires and it will alert the driver if the pressure gets to low.
TPMS uses sensors to measure the tire pressure in each tire and will send the information to the driver. The driver is alerted when the pressure gets to low with the warning light, gauge, or pictogram display.
TPMS helps prevents accidents, poor fuel economy, and increased tire wear. Properly inflated tires also help with traction, it increases the life of the tire and reduces the risk of hydroplaning.
There is 2 types of TPMS: direct and indirect
TPMS first appeared in luxury vehicles in Europe in the 1980’s. In the United States, the 2000 TREAD Act led to pass market adoption of the TPMS.
